The Problem
Noise Off is a citizen campaign that begins in Spain, thirty days before the festival of St. John 2023, as a response to the problem of firetrackers and fireworks that are launched at night, without any control or permission in the west of the city (Figueres, Empordà, Catalonia). This irresponsible practice causes considerable social harm to residents, in the form of the following most common negative impacts
Stress and anxiety
The intense noise of pyrotechnics generates stress and anxiety in many people, especially in children, the elderly and those who suffer from anxiety disorders or noise sensitivity. This negatively affects their emotional well-being and quality of life.
Impact on sleep
Fireworks and night-time crackers disrupt people’s rest and sleep. The sudden noise and brightness of explosives make it difficult to fall back sleep, cause frequent awakenings and affect the quality of rest.
Disturbance to pets and animals.
Animals, especially pets, are extremely sensitive to the noise of pyrotechnics. Loud bangs and sounds can cause stress, fear, agitation, and even physical injury. Many animals run away or try to hide to escape the noise, which can lead to loss or accidents.
Mental health effects

L’ambaixador o ambaixadora és el rostre visible de la campanya Soroll Off i representa els interessos dels usuaris perjudicats de la seva zona. La seva funció principal és actuar com a nexe, portaveu i defensor de la causa, comunicant els objectius, les preocupacions i les demandes de manera efectiva.
Sensibilitat i educació
